Quest for the Force of Will: Day 1.

Sure, sure. I know that season 5 of the MOCS actually started yesterday, but I did not play after downtime came back up. (Well that's not true, I did two man a lot. I picked up a set of Lion's Eye Diamonds on the cheap thanks to the promo price! Played a lot of Legacy Belcher!) Today marked my first day of actually playing with the goal of getting QPs. I played from 1pm to 1030pm, which sounds like a lot of sitting in front of my computer, and that is true, but I managed to do the dishes, some laundry, and buy a little bit of groceries. So I was kinda active and not just sitting here. I played in 6 Modern events, Krark-Clan Ironworks combo was the only thing I played. On the day I played against 12 different modern decks. I only played against Zoo more than once, and to be fair, one of them was Counter Cat, and the other was Tribal Flames. So I could say that they were different! Overall I went 8-5 in the matches that I played. I went 0-1 in two 8 mans. I went 1-1 in another two 8 mans, and went 3-0 in one. The Daily event I played in saw me go 3-1. I earned 3 qps. I won 15 packs. After selling the packs I am up 13 tickets after paying the 24 ticket entry fees. I'll have an article up on Puremtgo.com or Legitmtg.com recapping my season.

Bug Control

This is what I am currently playing in Standard. Rough matchups seems to be Mono Red if I stumble on mana. I've not seen enough of the mono black devotion to judge it properly. Will be playing it some more

3-1 in standard.

Picked up Mono Blue Devotion last night.  I'm pretty sleep deprived, seeing that I have been awake since 3pm yesterday.  I figured if I had a deck on MTGO that served me better than having a bunch of cards, so I went with Mono Blue Devotion, Merfolk in Modern (not a surprise there) and UR control and Eye Candy in Pauper.  So I have decks that I am comfortable with ( Aether vial in mono blue devotion would be sick!) and can actually play instead of using a cobbled together pile of cards!

I played mono blue in a Daily event, went 3-1, losing to Mono Black Devotion, but beating a mono red aggro deck and two red devotion decks.  Not bad for someone who had never picked up the deck before right?

Grinding Sunday

Played in two events, went 3-3 in the Pauper Premier with Affinity and then 0-2 with Burn in Legacy.
I lost to Mono Blue Show and Tell, took him to three games, I got to Ashen Rider an Emrakul. I also lost to Miracles. The Affinity matches I beat were Eye Candy, Burn, and Something I do not remember. I lost to mono black in my win and in in round 6 (I may not have been in) and to Mono Blue Twice.

Stock Green Red List, Plays a ton of the same cards from the Naya build, should be easy enough to finish up

The final deck is the UW Heroic deck, if it's good enough for my buddy Andy Burden, it's gotta be good enough for me, even if he thinks Tim Tebow should be in the NFL!

Mocs Season Two

I'm gonna start grinding again after the new year.  I've had a pretty good break from magic!
